Where have I been?!?!

Monday 6pm: The suns just disappeared, I reckon there's a storm-a-brewing!

The last couple of months seem to have flown by and although originally I thought the sunny weather would limit my weaving activity it actually hasn't at all. I just seem to have strange work hours instead. My little studio is right by my patio window to maximise light and give me a beautiful view of the wonderful green blooming garden so naturally I assumed that along with these wonders the hot blazing summer sun would also arrive and put a halt to my work. Weaving especially on a hand table loom is pretty hot work, so having the humidity and the sun shining on you while your doing it is almost unbearable, not quite as bad as a heater above your head like at Uni but still! The original point to my little story is that I came to an agreement with the sun and have been weaving from 9 till 12 which is when the sun begins to beam on the back of the house, then start again at 3 when it cools down slightly. Also opening the patio door for a nice late afternoon summer breeze, then I stop between 5 and 7 for when the sun starts getting lower, then weave the night away until bedtime. So production hasn’t been interrupted at all and the wonderful albeit slightly unpredictable weather of the recent months has in fact fed my creativity further and given me plenty more colourful, exciting new ideas to keep my mind ticking away until my birthday (October).
